Janice E. Sullivan
Mrs.Sullivan is a native of St. Simons Island Georgia. She spent most of her years as a youth in Syracuse N.Y. It was there that she first recognize her love for, and need to help teens who found themselves at a crossroad in life. Mrs Sullivan herself is no stranger to how important the right decisions at the right time can be. At the age of fourteen she spent over a year on the streets encountering countless forms of abuse. Realizing that she would not survive if she didn't act and act quickly. She of her own cognition made the decision to place herself in Foster Care; possibly saving her life. However grateful she maybe for those days of solace; it is the days that followed that ignited her commitment to help society understand that intervention-without good intension-is what has failed many of our youth.
Mrs. Sullivan like most teens who age out of foster care found herself back on the streets without many of the tools she would need to become a productive part of our society. Mrs.Sullivan had not received a high school diploma, counseling or the financial and home making skills she would need to succeed. Later faced with a failed marriage she found herself caught up in the very life she ran from years before. Mrs. Sullivan survived those obstacles and went on to receive her General Education Diploma from Syracuse University's Equal Opportunity Program. As well as a certification in public relations from Metro School of Arts. Spent twenty- two years in managerial positions. Helped with the personal development of countless others while working with several youth programs. She presently lives in Atlanta, Ga. with her husband. And continues to ( or has ) work with such programs as C.A.S.A, Cleaster Mims College Preparatory School, Rainbow House children's emergency shelter and From Welfare to Work.
She received her certification in Foster Care and childhood behavioral course's, is presently working on two projects of her own to improve communication and conditions for our youth.
